Welcome to Through the Skylight, a space with tools, ideas and actionable resources towards a better living.
We all want to live a good life. And although we all have our own definition of a “good life”, if we knew how to cut the negativity, have the courage to pick up our passion, be centered and calm, and make smarter choices that empower instead of exploiting, wouldn’t we want to live that way? Yeah, me too.
Well it’s not all easy...
I was introduced to sustainability and intentional living in 2018, before which I was every bit of your diva next door.
I shopped at fast-fashion stores simply when I was bored, purchased items knowing fully well I wouldn’t use them, was easily distracted, and believed almost anything brands would tell me.
I had no idea how my fashion and buying choices were harming the planet I claimed to love, and absolutely did not know how easy it was to shift to a better lifestyle.
Okay well it’s not all easy.
It takes quite a bit of awareness, research, and planning to execute an intentional life, where you not only keep yourself happy and centered, but contribute to the betterment of your surroundings.
I know it’s not easy because I struggled to find information and tools to live sustainably.
Which is why I have started this blog.
We all have a responsibility...
My aim is to make sustainable and intentional living as easy as possible for anybody even remotely interested in making a change for the better, and while I’m not perfect at it, I want to contribute to a better tomorrow.
It is no more a choice to be eco-friendly or not.
Sustainable practices like garbage segregation cannot be a hobby.
Paying a little more to purchase clothes made of sustainable fabric cannot be a one-time affair.
We all have a responsibility.
A responsibility to disrupt our thinking patterns, and question our thoughts and beliefs.
It’s time to turn over a new leaf. (Pun intended.)
Throughout this website, you will find everything that correlated and corresponds with living a slow, sustainable life, full of intent.
Use this as your guide to finding headspace and building healthier relationships not only with friends, family and work, but also in making smarter choices in regards to where your hard earned money goes.
I hope you will join me on this journey!
